SWANDOWN CYGNET 
at Cricket St. Thomas

Situated on the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Devon, 4 miles equidistant between Crewkerne to the east and Chard to the west, is the Cygnet, a luxury Scandinavian style lodge. It is located on the select gated development of Swandown which comprises just twenty lodges in the parkland of the Cricket St. Thomas country estate.

The Cygnet is located on the frontline, facing south, with probably the best, uninterrupted stunning views of the beautiful parkland and countryside beyond.

The Swandown site has an indoor heated swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests staying at the lodges - the pool can be booked for private use by individual lodges 48 hours in advance.

General Overview of Accommodation

The lodge is single story accommodation and has been tastefully and individually furnished throughout.  It has a specious open plan living area comprising lounge, dining area and kitchen. The cathedral style windows and patio doors in the lounge area give uninterrupted views and allows access to the terrace and garden enabling this suntrap to be enjoyed from early morning to the evening.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped and the dining area has table and comfortable seating for four.

There are two spacious double bedrooms each with king-size beds and ensuite facilities and a spacious hall. 

There is gas-fired underfloor heating to all main rooms and a wood burner in the lounge area.

Sorry no pets are permitted and no smoking or vaping is permitted in the lodge.

The lounge has a vaulted ceiling with chandelier and has a large sofa and two reclining leather chairs which can be turned outwards to enjoy the view or inward to enjoy the wood burner during chillier evenings.  

There is a flat screen smart TV with Freeview and power amplifier, wi-fi internet access which enables the TV to stream services such as Amazon and Netflix, etc if you have the necessary subscription details.  There is also a Blu-ray DVD player and DAB radio together with a selection of DVDs, books and board games. 

An initial supply of logs, kindling and starter pack is supplied for the wood burner. (More logs and kindling can be purchased at the local Tesco and Lidl stores).

The modern Shaker style fitted kitchen is fully equipped with electric double oven/grill, ceramic induction hob with extractor fan, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher and Tassimo coffee machine.

In addition, the kitchen is also fully equipped with everything needed to produce home cooked delights including a steamer, wok, and all the necessary preparation equipment. Tea towels, hand towel, washing- up brush, sponge, scourer, J cloth and washing up liquid together with dish washer tablets are supplied.

The dining area is adjacent with an oak topped dining table and four comfortable, upholstered chairs. 







                       Master Bedroom

The master bedroom has a king size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobe and full-length mirror. 

There is a wall mounted TV and patio doors to the terrace.

Quality white linen, duvet, towels and bath robes are supplied, together with a bath mat and a non-slip mat for the shower cubicle.  

The ensuite shower room has a  walk-in shower, hand basin, soft close toilet and heated towel rail. 

 

 








           Guest Bedroom

This also has a king size bed, bedside tables, chest of drawers, wardrobe, dressing table and full-length mirror.  

The same quality white linen, duvet, towels and bath robes are provided together with a bath mat and a non-slip mat for the bath.  

The ensuite bathroom has a bath with efficient overhead shower and screen, hand basin, soft close toilet and heated towel rail.

Parking, Terrace and View 

Immediately to the side of the property is the Lodge's private off-road parking, with space for two vehicles. There is also additional visitor parking  on site.  

Although the garden is not enclosed,  the terrace is very private and runs the full width of the lodge.  It faces due south with almost 180 degrees uninterrupted views making it ideal for alfresco dining with table, chairs, parasol, loungers and a BBQ.

 

 Directions

 Swandown resort is halfway between Chard and Crewkerne (about 4 miles from either town) on the A30.  Easily found by using the A303 and/or the M5.

 There is an electric gate at the entrance to Swandown and we will advise you of the current entry code   and the Lodge's key safe code, when communicating with you nearer to your arrival date.
